APV eCoolRoof® is a white, water-based coating system engineered to dramatically increase the emissivity and total solar reflectance (TSR) properties of a roof’s surface. Studies have shown energy savings as much as 63%*! The coating system is designed to reduce energy absorption into buildings and restore aged roof surfaces, which can be warranted to up to 15 years. APV eCoolRoof is rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) and is qualified for Energy Star and Title 24.
Along with reduced energy absorption, APV eCoolRoof® is highly resistant to stains, dirt pickup, plasticizer migration, abrasions, and algea/fungal growth throughout its 20 year lifecycle. The coating has excellent retention of gloss and is low VOC. In essence, APV eCoolRoof® delivers a number of sustainable, practical and eco-friendly benefits for property owners, contractors, builders, and architects.
The Technology
The APV eCoolRoof topcoat contains Kynar Aquatec®* resin, which is a tough, engineered thermoplastic that offers a unique balance of properties to withstand harsh thermal, chemical, and ultraviolet environmental conditions. It provides APV eCoolRoof the ability to resist UV degradation, guard against abrasions, restrict the growth of mold and mildew, and repel dirt on a roof’s surface. The APV eCoolRoof elastomeric acrylic basecoat is specifically formulated to smooth over small surface cracks and holes and function as a tenacious bonding layer for the APV eCoolRoof topcoat.

Based on a 20-year life cycle test conducted by Arkema, Inc., the APV eCoolRoof coating reduces energy usage by approximately 63% (kWh/ft2) and reduces VOC emissions between 30% and 40%.
